The Six Steps of Self-Love and Your Money:

1. You are introduced to your beloved Self – You are entranced, or definitely interested, but also more than a bit tentative about dating such a person.
2. Next you will go on your first date – and find the fun in being with someone you really connect with. But what if this is like all the others? The questions and fears run deep.
3. The second date is easier. But you are still protective of yourself. And then there’s the money issue. Can you truly love yourself if you don’t have enough money? Or enough success, or enough talent, or enough good looks, or enough...you name it. But bottom line, are you enough to have enough?
4. The third date is really fun, and you begin to trust yourself a little more. A little Self-love begins to open up your heart to receive. And you glimpse the possibility that if Money is Love, then you might be able to let some into your life.
5. Then, on the fourth date you allow yourself to give yourself fully to yourself, and the Love boils up inside of you until you realize that you are truly, madly, deeply in love with yourself.
6. On the fifth date, your heart ecstatically bursts open and allows in all this amazing love, and with it all the glorious lovely, luscious Money as Love, and all else that you truly, madly, deeply desire.

As fundamental as Self-Love is, many people have a knee-jerk reaction to it, because in our culture Self-Love is associated with selfishness, self-centeredness, self-importance, even self-aggrandizement. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Self-Love emanates from the heart and the true beauty within us. The other “self” words ooze from a muddy puddle of self-hatred, self-judgment, self-negation, and low self-esteem. When we Love ourselves we are never selfish. In fact, people who truly Love themselves are immensely generous. The word "self-centered" connotes someone who thinks only of themselves. When you Love yourself you feel safe within yourself, so you are simultaneously able to be aware of what is going on outside yourself, and have compassion for others, whom you know are part of your greater human family. When you express yourself from a place of heart-centered love and safety, everyone around you senses it and is lifted up by it and feels safe as well.
